Signs of spring

Yep. You can tell its spring when I give in.

And polish and shine my boots.

In preparation for putting them away.

I think they needed the polish!

Full moon on the rise

Tonight I came home with fresh tomatoes.

There are no photos to prove it, but I am feeling quite

accomplished after having made spaghetti sauce with

fresh tomatoes and fresh basil.

Oh, and lets not forget fresh garlic.

What can I say?

I was hungry.

It was delicious.

My next order of business?

Doing a sinkload of dishes.

When they're done, that's also something that makes me

feel accomplished.

Lets not talk about how I feel when they're piled up.

And up.

and up.

I've had this idea that I need to start knitting a sweater

for quite some time.

And now...the yarn for it is wound up in

conveniently useable

center-pull balls.

Since my evening is full of excitement

and I've been neglecting my blog

I thought I'd share.

And....no post of mine feels quite complete without

a photo.

So, I'll leave you with this evening's sky show.

Is this wrong?

On a semi-recent trip,

I took a flight from the Moline airport.

They have a little art gallery to browse before braving the security line.

And this was there.

Yes, this IS a rabbit giving birth.

I thought it was quite kid appropriate.

What snow?

Welll, even I have to admit that we got a lil' bit of snow.
I played in it today.
And my cheeks became rosy.
My arms got tired.
And it felt really wonderful to hole back up inside!

It all started with a few flakes Tuesday night...

And ended this Wednesday am with a drift or two.

Just little ones.

Lucky for us we have kind neighbors with snowblowers.
Or we might STILL be shovelling.

On to the back doors...luckily they open inward!

Drifts are rather pretty...

And..um...rather sink-ish.

Hard work, I tell ya! I done got so tuckered out, I keeled over!

Ball Jar

I love it when the little things grab me.
Like the light shining through this jar,
making lovely images on the wall.
And.
I love it when I'm not too lazy to grab my camera!

Still bunny lovin'

I am still of the opinion that angora bunnies are pretty stinkin' cool.

So I give these two lots of attention when I visit the sister's house.
And, belive it or not, they're still cuddly bunnies.

De-stash.

Ahem. CERTAIN members of my family MIGHT have a tendency to stash things.

Lots of things.
And not throw them away until...
SUDDENLY!
They realize they're running out of room to move.
In the garage, the shed AND the basement.
And other places, too.
This vanload is the result of a weekend project.
Its still sitting in the driveway today,
but big plans are in place to haul it all away on the morrow.
I think it may be time for me to take a look at my stuff, too.

Still?

As of right now, I'm there. Yep. In Ireland.
Uhm...well, since I'm writing this just a bit ahead of time, I should qualify that.
Barring any volcanic issues, airline strikes, or other unforseen issues, I'm there.
I'm thinking I will be. Positively.

If you're still there...

Thanks for sticking with me and doing the once-in-awhile read of my once-in-awhile blog.
I fully realize that the past couple of months have been me dwelling in the past. But, as of today, I'm caught up with pics of 2010.
There should be NEW, fully modern, photos when I make a return to US soil.
Hoorah!

Sparkles

This morning as I drove to work, everything sparkled.
The combination of frost and sun~AH, perfection.
Its been a great day...starting with the sparkles.

Used to

I used to talk to my sister about blogs. We didn't say much good about them. However, now that I've started reading blogs in my down time...well, we'll see how long one of my own lasts....

Perhaps as long as this beautiful sunrise I captured this morning? (By the way, why is it that sunrises and sunsets never ever look as impressive as a digital image [Ok, ok, I admit it...I started to write 'on film'] as they do in person...especially on a crisp fall day??) Is that a run-on sentence?
Mkay, must quit spending time at home on this...its an other-time-of-the-day time passer.
