I need to see this.

I'll admit it. I was looking for California oddities.
I think I may have found one.
But, I find it oddly alluring.

Still bunny lovin'

I am still of the opinion that angora bunnies are pretty stinkin' cool.

So I give these two lots of attention when I visit the sister's house.
And, belive it or not, they're still cuddly bunnies.

Red Admiral?

This is one of the butterflies who likes to hang out on the sedum.
Sipping nectar like there's no tomorrow.
Is it a Red Admiral?
From my internet research, that's my educated guess.

Chicken cake

Nephew #2 had a birthday last weekend.
My sis made him a super cool cake.
With chickens.
That she made of Sculpey and painted.
Why is that woman so talented? Goodness!

Another orchid

At the Farmer's Market in Iowa City
Appears a lady who grows and sells all kinds of orchids.
One day last year I bought a 'Pinnochio' orchid from her.
It bloomed for nearly a year.
That's what I call a productive flower-er!
Wellll, since it stopped blooming I NEEDED another orchid in my room.
One with flowers on it.
This is (one of) the results of my trip to visit with her again.
And when it stops blooming, will I make another visit?
YOU BET!

New (to me) flowers

I thought these looked pretty on the package.
So I planted some bulbs early in the summer.
They've been blooming for a few weeks now.
They smell lovely on top of lookin' pretty.
And do I have their name?
Not now, but if you're interested...let me know.
OR-better yet...if you know their name...let me know.

Live-forever

The bees (and butterflies) have found our sedum.
My sister (and others) call this type live-forever, as the plant looks pretty all summer
AND the blooms last for at least a month.
At our household, we like the fact that it attracts lots of pollinators.

WHAT?

Someone who gets into our building on the weekend has an odd sense of humor.
I'll admit I laughed,
but now I feel kinda sorry for the poor sad Bob Snarley.
And he sang so nicely, too.

De-stash.

Ahem. CERTAIN members of my family MIGHT have a tendency to stash things.

Lots of things.
And not throw them away until...
SUDDENLY!
They realize they're running out of room to move.
In the garage, the shed AND the basement.
And other places, too.
This vanload is the result of a weekend project.
Its still sitting in the driveway today,
but big plans are in place to haul it all away on the morrow.
I think it may be time for me to take a look at my stuff, too.
